As Turkiye's first Barbershop style vocal ensemble, the qartet became the first Turkish member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. the quartet has performed at various prestigious venues including Casa Botter, Akbank Sanat, BKM Mutfak, Pera Museum, Borusan music House, Santa Maria Draperis Church, St. Pierre and St. Paul's Church. In 2017, they received an invitation from Harmony University - Quartet College in Nashville, USA, and became the first Turkish quartet to attend this annual Barbershop convention and performed to international audience. Barbershop Istanbul was greatly appreciated by the audience in Nashville, the birthplace of the genre, as well as in Turkiye. the quartet's repertoire includes not only classical Barbershop arrangements and Barbershop arrangements of popular music, but also Kaan Bayır's works of popular, traditional and classical turkish music arranged in Barbershop style.  less

We are girls who become like family through our shared passion for music. Each member auditioned by our choirmaster, Andre van der Merwe, and attends Stellenberg High School. Our repertoire consists mainly of Gospel, Acapella, Classical, Folk/Ethnic, and Sacred music. We compete in various national and international competitions and strive to share beautiful music with the world while being cultural ambassadors for our country. Achievements: - Overall winners of the "ATKV Nasionale Applous-kompetisie" for 12 times (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011). - In 2002 they won the category for Women's Choirs at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales. - In 2004, we were awarded the highest percentage for any choir at the World Choir Olympics. - In 2006 we won the much acclaimed Choir of the World trophy in Llangollen Wales. ...    less
