Hall, CONTINUUM brings together twelve of the finest professional consort singers in London, carefully chosen to produce a unique and vibrant sound that celebrates the very best qualities of the English choral tradition and the powerful beauty of the uninhibited human voice. This all-male ensemble has made 16th century Spanish sacred polyphony and chant the core of its repertoire, and seeks to perform this wonderful music at the original, sonorous low pitch as it would have been heard in Spanish cathedrals and religious institutions during Spain’s “Golden Age”.  less

The group was formed with some of Brisbane’s best and most experienced ensemble singers, most of whom sing regularly with other choirs in and around the city and have extensive performing and touring experience both around Australia and internationally. The singers range across an assortment of careers, from educators to environmental engineers, and from students to musicians. They are drawn together because of their passion for singing and produce an energy in performance that immediately connects with their audience. In programming, Fusion specialises in early and new music – from Jean Mouton and Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla to Cyrillus Kreek, Arvo Pärt, and Henryk Mikolaj Górecki. The ensemble prides itself on delivering an artistic product that combines choral maturity with youthful vibrancy to bring a fresh sound to music that is not often performed in the region.  less

Comprised of professionally trained musicians, Innismara is dedicated to the performance of the intimate and hidden treasures of the vocal ensemble repertoire. Innismara made its debut in the summer of 2010 at Muses and Minstrels: A Festival of Early Performing Arts held in conjunction with the Cupids 400 celebrations. In collaboration with the Hot Earth Ensemble, Innismara performed music from the late Renaissance and early Baroque, highlights of which were recorded for national broadcast on CBC Radio. The success of these performances led to an invitation to participate in a series of workshops and performances in the Labrador Inuit communities of Nunatsiavut in the spring of 2011. The entire exchange project was recorded by film-maker Nigel Markham and CBC radio producer Francesca Swann for a documentary film on the choral tra...    less

I love you, I love you, I love so immensely, Mother, mother, sweet mother. For your love and your kindness, I will sing your praises all of my life. (Ahh) My soul is delirious at the cries of your pain; My music throbs and groans its length. Lord, in your kindness, Comfort my mother. Give her your love, your strength and your light. For she remains forever my great inspiration, And that my life for her is a blessing.
