Paralia is a touristic seaside village situated on the west coast of the Thermaic Gulf and in the shadow of Olympus. The Festival has two parts: competitive and non-competitive. However, the character and the main concept of both parts is joining music, vacation, friendship and fun. The idea of the Festival is to bring the music closer to the people and to present the music on the streets and the squares of Paralia, Olympic Beach and Katerini. All Choir ensembles, regardless of the members’ gender and age can apply for participation at the Festival.  less

Another member of our singing group (Jill Mitchell) wrote the words for the second verse. This is my own performance (as the multitrack Choir dwsChorale) 1. If there's anybody here like weepin' Mary Call upon your Jesus and he'll draw nigh If there's anybody here like weepin' Mary Call upon your Jesus and he'll draw nigh Oh glory, glory Hallelujah Glory be to my God who rules on high [traditional] 2. R.Brisotto 2/9/2018 Pieve di Santa Maria Oltrebut, Tolmezzo (Ud). "Love is always patient; love is always kind; love is never envious or arrogant with pride. (Where charity and love are, God is there) Nor is she conceited and she is never rude; she never thinks just of hersel or ever get annoyed. She never is resentful; is never glad with sin, but always glad to side with truth, whene'er the truth should win. (Christ's love has gathered us into one) She bears up under everything, believes the best in all, there is no limit to her hope, and she will never fall. We rehearse at the Bundoora campus of La Trobe University, Victoria, Australia on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Our objectives are to rehearse and perform choral music, to participate in InterVarsity Choral Festivals and to do whatever else seems relevant. The Society is a non-auditioned Choir, but it has been suggested that we could have a small, auditioned group within the society (perhaps called "Graduate Singers" or such like). Another possibility is that we could sing at graduation ceremonies in Union Hall. Another possibility is a joint concert with another UCS. And what sort of music should we sing? Madrigals? Handel's Messiah? COME ALONG AND HAVE YOUR SAY!  less

A brilliant moment from our concert in Stirling's Tolbooth Theatre. :-) 5/5/15
