the ROYAL COLLEGE Choir, which traces its origins back to St. Paul’s Church, Wolvendhal where Royal College itself was formed in 1835 It was made part of the Western Music Society of Royal College with its formation in the year 1919.

During the tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed the Choir won the prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200.
the College Anthem ‘School of our Fathers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on the 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving the College Anthem. the Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with the support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq.
the Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, the most significant out of which being the Annual Carol Service. It is currently trained by the eminent Ms. Sureka Amerasinghe. less

Formed by Debra Shearer-Dirié in 2009, Fusion has become known for it performances of diverse repertoire with exceptional beauty. the group was formed with some of Brisbane’s best and most experienced ensemble singers, most of whom sing regularly with other Choirs in and around the city and have extensive performing and touring experience both around Australia and internationally. the singers range across an assortment of careers, from educators to environmental engineers, and from students to Musicians. they are drawn together because of their passion for singing and produce an energy in performance that immediately connects with their audience.
In programming, Fusion specialises in early and new Music – from Jean Mouton and Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla to Cyrillus Kreek, Arvo Pärt, and Henryk Mikolaj Górecki. the ensemble prides itself on delivering an artistic product that combines choral maturity with youthful vibrancy to bring a fresh sound to Music that is not often performed in the region. less
