It does not meet on a regular basis, but comes together for short, intensive work periods, culminating in performances, or “projects.” The majority of its musicians are recruited from the metropolitan Washington, DC and Baltimore areas, but some come from as far away as New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. We offer high-quality performances of significant choral, and choral-orchestral music, concentrating especially, but not exclusively, on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. We supplement our gifts to the community with unique experiences, such as our “Conversation Concerts.” We also offer advanced training opportunities in our specialized choral and choral-orchestral repertoire for young conductors and singers, through our workshops and performances.  less

Most of ex-semble's members come from the Süwestpfälzer Kinderchor. Starting in the children's choir with voice training and also personal formation, ex-semble works mainly with a-cappella literature of all epoches. The group was formed with some of Brisbane’s best and most experienced ensemble singers, most of whom sing regularly with other choirs in and around the city and have extensive performing and touring experience both around Australia and internationally. The singers range across an assortment of careers, from educators to environmental engineers, and from students to musicians. They are drawn together because of their passion for singing and produce an energy in performance that immediately connects with their audience. In programming, Fusion specialises in early and new music – from Jean Mouton and Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla to Cyrillus Kreek, Arvo Pärt, and Henryk Mikolaj Górecki. The ensemble prides itself on delivering an artistic product that combines choral maturity with youthful vibrancy to bring a fresh sound to music that is not often performed in the region.  less
