DCMVC rehearses Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at St Osmund's Church, London Road Derby. The choir is also available to book for events. For more information, see our website.

The Games included twenty seven thousand singers from four hundred choirs representing seventy three countries. Dozan wa Awtar, under The leadership of its Founder and Director Shireen Abu Khader, competed in two categories: Scenic Folklore and Mixed Choirs; singing Arabic songs in both and receiving a Gold Diploma in each category. This is The first time Jordan is represented in an international choral competition. On this occasion, Shireen Abu Khader expressed her immense pride at this accomplishment and international recognition and commended The continuous efforts of The singers which led to this achievement. She also thanked all those who have given both financial and moral support to The choir, as this could not have been achieved without Their help. The choir continually strives to sing at professional Standards under The expert musical directorship of David Crown. The choir has a varied programme throughout The year including charity concerts, festivals, workshops, Come and Sing events, CD recordings and a hugely popular Carol Concert.

For The first time, The choir came togeTher in The evening of October 18, when about 90 students gaThered at Riga Secondary School No 2. The testing of voices was not very strict, and of The entire enthusiastic crowd only one student was rejected. Then, for a month, rehearsals were held, in which The voices of would-be singers were trained and made to keep in tune. After that anoTher testing was held.
