We are an adult all-volunteer Chorus with a membership that spans nationalities, generations and professions — united by a passion for music and singing. Some of our members have had a lifetime of music and choral experience; others are only just beginning to discover the joy of singing. Whichever stage our members are experiencing in their personal musical journeys, the IFC is filled with enriching opportunities to learn and grow both as musicians and as individuals. The IFC is committed to sharing our love for music and choral singing with the community through two formal concerts a year and additional performances at private and public events.  less

Oh, Shenando, I long to see you, And hear your rolling river, Oh, Shenando, I long to see you, Way, were bound away, Across the wide Missouri. I long to see your smiling valley, And hear your rolling river, I long to see your smiling valley, Way, were bound away, Across the wide Missouri. Tis sevn long years since last I see you, And hear your rolling river, Tis sevn long years since last I see you, Way, were bound away, Across the wide Missouri.

This is a choir for mission through praising. Pilgrim Mission Choir gives regular concert once a year with ever new and differentiated church music leading the circle of choral music as a pioneer. The choir is also recognized with its performance. It manages concerts more than 10 times a year like rush of invitation, local tour and church tour concert. Focusing on church music, repertoires of the choir cross over every age like renaissance, motet, baroque and classic, and every genre like spirituals, gospel and modern music. The singing of the choir is always enough to excite the audience. The choir consists of participants in workshop weeks, which are offered twice a year in different European countries. Overtone singing is a new vocal technique that allows for singing two tones simultaneously. EOC sings compositions with written overtones as well as choir improvisations and contemporary music. The effect of controlled overtones on the timbre of classical choir compositions is explored with special ear training.

The Riverfront Times writes that the “eight members of Octarium go beyond raising their voices together in song; their voices warp and weave together, coalescing as a single instrument of tremendous power and depth. Octarium wields this might gracefully, never overpowering, opting instead to revel in the pliancy of the human voice.” In addition to a Kansas City-a...    less

Founded in New York City in 2008 by Artistic Director Vince Peterson, the organization now encompasses: a roster of professional ensemble Singers, a volunteer chorus of 40-50 adults and an annual week-long Summer Institute in Brooklyn for composers and conductors. Our new Musical Director, Julian Collings joined the choir beginning of 2019. Over the last few years the choir has enjoyed a growing reputation for its repertoire of outstanding contemporary music alongside the established classics. TCS latest performances included The Creation of Haydn, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mass in Blue of Todd, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle. The Choir also perform a Christmas Concert every year. Overall we perform three main concerts a year. During its performances TCS enjoys the participation of professional soloists and orchestras and ensembles. Phil Culling is our accompanist. With past successes and imaginative programming, TCS is thriving. We are always glad to welcome new Singers, regardless of age; especiallly those who enjoy their music making. We like to rehearse and perform with our sense of humour switched on.  less
