Born from an experimental session for BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction in 2009, YANTRA’s vocal focal point is the intersection of seemingly incompatible and incomparable singing traditions. Combining the purity of a cappella with modern multi-tracking recording techniques, their rich vocal fusion explores the spiritual and folkloric music from the traditional and ancient musical heritage of Bulgaria, India and England.  less

Yon bugle was well winded. At Oriana's presence each thing smileth. The flow'rs themselves discover, Birds over her do hover, Music the time beguileth, See where she comes, with flow'ry garlands crowned, Queen of all queens reknowned. Then sang the shepherds and nymphs of Diana, "Long live fair Oriana!"

Fick) is an auditioned SATB choir of up to 65 voices with a Passion for presenting excellent choral music. TBC invites professional musicians, soloists, actors and other arts organizations to join in classical choral repertoire in 3 - 4 concerts per season. TBC organizes and participates in “Messiah for the City” and in many local community events. TBC’s “Choral Scholars Program offers subsidy and training to singers aged 19 to 24. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7 to 9:30pm, September to May, usually at Kingston Road United Church. Auditions in September and January; the ability to read music and choral experience are assets. At the heart of EVOKX, our singers share a Passion to inspire our audiences with choral music that resonates with the soul, and instill empathy and charity through community engagement and choral performance. We stand strong in our pursuit for artistic excellence, and strive to nurture our singers’ love of choral music by giving them an avenue to further pursue their interest in choral singing. In evoking the senses, emotions, and memories through the music we make, we hope to bring meaning and purpose to the community at large, and stay steadfast to our fundamental belief that music can bring people from all walks of life together to do good.  less
