As the premiere chorale Ensemble at OSU, the OSU Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Steven Zielke, has garnered national attention and international awards. While touring Eastern Europe in 2001, the choir received the Grand Prize at the Festival of Light in Bulgaria, and in April 2006, the Chamber Choir was selected as the only collegiate mixed choir from outside of the state of Utah to perform at the 60th Music Educators National Biennial Conference in Salt Lake City. The choir has performed in many exciting venues, including a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Smetana Hall in Prague and at Strathov Monastery in Prague Castle, the first choir allowed to perform in the monastery in decades. Usually consisting of 20 to 24 members, the Chorale focuses primarily on chamber choir repertoire and tackles a wide variety of styles, languages, and techniques. Chorale membership is reserved for students who demonstrate some level of music-reading ability, experience singing in advanced choral Ensembles, and/or the potential to thrive in a small, advanced chamber choir environment. During the audition process, careful attention is given to maintaining artistic balance among the sections of the chorus. In addition to performances throughout the academic year, students in Chorale are expected to remain on campus for an additional week after the conclusion of each spring semester to perform in Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies and participate in end-of-year touring activities.  less

In Abgrenzung von Kammer- und Kirchenchor stiftete der Name „Jedweder Küchenchor“ eine Identität, die es in der Folge erlaubte, sich quer durch das Repertoire der Musikliteratur zu singen. Nach den anfänglich ausschließlich musikalischen Chordarbietungen, entdeckte der Chor immer mehr die Lust zur kreativen Bühnengestaltung und begann dramaturgische Elemente in die musikalische Darbietung einzubauen. Für das Programm „Familie Grinzinger besteigt einen Berg“ 1997, engagierte er erstmals eine Regisseurin (Nika Sommeregger), die den Chor bei der Inszenierung unterstützte. By engaging in an intense study, could soon join the most important events of prestigious choralcompetitions earning statements in Arezzo and Ravenna in 1978 and 1979 and Gorizia in 1982. The polyphonic sacred and secular music certainly represents the most relevant part of the repertoire that the Polyphonic Group “Claudio Monteverdi” successfully brings to churches and theaters both in Italy and abroad. Among the repertoire, we can find 1500’s and Baroque musical compositions by Palestrina, Da Victoria, Gallus, Viadana, Hassler, Monteverdi. Among the Romantic authors, on the other hand, we can find Schubert, Schumann, Sibelius, and Rossini. Concerning modern Polyphonic music: Poulenc, Kodaly, Bardos, Pizzetti, and Orff. Full Circle sing songs of all styles in three or four part harmony. You do not need to read music and there are no auditions. We sing for fun and socialise outside of choir. We love to perform, especially for charity.

It is supported by a smaller, auditioning Fulham Camerata Ensemble which is made up of professional and semi-professional singers, allowing the main Camerata to tackle exciting repertoire and maintain high musical standards while fostering the careers of young professionals. The choir also offers choral scholarships to promising young soloists which provides Vocal support for the amateur choir, and fosters career development for the scholars. The amateur and Ensemble groups come together for at least three main concerts a year with additional Christmas concerts, sometimes with orchestra. The amateur choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 – 9.30pm  less
