This choral group comes from the experience of the first months of 2018, with the project 'Canta amb l'OBC' organized by the L'Auditori of Barcelona, which consisted of a diverse symphonic program with accompaniment of the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra. It was a lively and intense musical experience that led a good part of the group to continue singing as a symphonic Choir, which is how they define themselves. Singing, living together and sharing is the motto of this choral group. The general aim is to acquire the necessary musical experience that allows the group to consolidate itself as a stable chorale and to position itself as one of the leading Choirs of the Catalan musical scene. All of them are former members of the “Dresdner Kreuzchor” (Choir of the Church of the Holy Cross Dresden) or the “Thomanerchor Leipzig” (St. Thomas Choir Leipzig), two of the most famous boy's Choirs in Germany. The Singers have set themselves the target to present their listeners a wide musical spectrum. Their repertoire consists of vocal music from Renaissance and Baroque to Romanticism to the 20th and 21st century. Important elements are works of Jacobus Gallus, Michael Praetorius, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Francis Poulenc and Rudolf Mauersberger. In addition they also perform with popular music. Music of the “Comedian Harmonists”, “The Beatles”, Billy Joel or the German group “Wise Guys” are also an essential part of their repertoire. We meet two Fridays per month from 7.30-9.30pm. For full details, FAQs, to hear us, or to join us go to www.londonclassicalChoir.com/. Every year we sing a major choral work with the London Classical Orchestra, in a Concert for the Homeless. We have also performed at Wembley Stadium and on a big Ryder Cup Europe social media campaign. The Choir is for those with some experience but we also welcome Singers with good voices who are new to classical music but keen to learn. There are regular solo opportunities.  less
