The Choir is truly representative of the force with a membership consisting almost entirely of serving and retired police officers, serving and retired members of the support staff and the special constabulary. We want to maintain the tradition of choral singing in a pleasant social environment and we do so under the professional leadership and tuition of our musical director Alison Howell, accompanist Julie Payne and deputy accompanist Gemma Leach.
We also want to share that musical tradition with the community, raise funds for local organisations and to act as ambassadors for the force. Away from the formal concerts however there is nothing the members like better than to sing and impromptu performances have taken place on cross channel ferries, in motorway services and in the odd pub or two.

It is a meditation on the meaning of transubstantiation.
[English original]
Hoc est enim corpus meum
The world's eternity lies here within my hand.
The weight of pain, of love, redemption is a sigh upon my hand,
My Christ, Lord of the infinite,
small to my comfort in my hand.
Humility of Love that tender here lies low.
White, trusting, full of care within my hand.
So, in my hand lies God.
Hoc est enim corpus meum. less

It was founded by Rev. Paul Caruana in 1974 as a girls’ Choir and sang for the first time at Christmas that same year. In the following months male voices were added and the enlarged Choir sang for the first time in the Good Friday celebrations of 1975. Eventually adult female voices joined in, establishing an SATB Choir.
The first big occasion for the Choir came in 1980, performing works by the compatriot prolific composer of sacred music Joseph Fenech (1917-2010). The Jubilate Deo Choir has since performed at the Teatru Manoel on many occasions, took part in the BBC production “Songs of Praise” that was televised worldwide and in 1990 sang during the visit to Malta of Pope John Paul II. Following the successful first Maltese performance of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio di Natale in December 2005 the Jubi... less

The group named DEKOR Chamber Choir is composed of experienced choral singers from various parts of Slovenia, who in the past used to sing in renowned Slovene and some foreign vocal ensembles. Driven by the desire of thorough preparation of quality choral projects, the Choir works under the leadership of Slovene and foreign guest conductors.
The Choir prepared their inaugural concert, entitled In the Beginning, in cooperation with young Finnish conductor Dani Juris The topic of creation coincided not only with the central composition of the concert, Copland’s In the Beginning, but also with the Choir’s first public appearance and presentation of the concept of their work. Among the carefully selected works by Slovene and other authors, three were performed in Slovenia for the first time: Aaron Copland’s In the Beginning, Cyrillus Kreek’s Onnis on inimene (Blessed be the Man) and Ole Gjeilo’s Unicornis captivatur (Captured Unicorn).
