Homechoir is a new way of looking at learning music. You don’t need to be able to sing well or at all to take part – the teaching is one-way. You watch and sing along with Ben if you can, and are invited to take part in the live text chat with everyone else around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the choir. If you can’t join in live, then you can enjoy the music-making at any time as all our sessions are recorded and available for you to watch when you can, as often as you like. You don’t need to be able to read music, and where scores are needed, Ben will display them on screen to help you learn. We aim to be the most ent...  moreAlthough we only became the City of Truro Male Choir in 2003, we can trace our Singing forefathers back to two local village choirs formed in the 1940s. These were Chacewater & District Male Choir and Carnon Vale Male Choir. We aim to be the most entertaining male voice choir in the South West and for the City of Truro to be proud of us. The ethos of the choir is to have fun and enjoy Singing. Each year we host a visiting choir and also spend a weekend away. We are a registered charity, and our current membership is over 50.We give approximately a dozen concerts a year  less

In addition, the choir has performed major new compositions by New Zealand composers, such as Missa Pacifica by David Hamilton in 2006, and John Drummond’s The Journey Home in 2012. For its 125th anniversary the choir commissioned a new work from Malcolm (Jack) Speirs: Cantico del Sole, and for its 150th anniversary celebrations the choir commissioned a new work from Christopher Marshall: For What Can Be More Beautiful?.
