We rehearse at the Bundoora campus of La Trobe University, Victoria, Australia on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
Our objectives are to rehearse and perform choral music, to participate in InterVarsity Choral Festivals and to do whatever else seems relevant.
The Society is a non-auditioned choir, but it has been suggested that we could have a small, auditioned group within the society (perhaps called "Graduate Singers" or such like). Another possibility is that we could sing at graduation ceremonies in Union Hall. Another possibility is a joint concert with another UCS. And what sort of music should we sing? Madrigals? Handel's Messiah?

No Bow Ties. No Blazers. No Auditions. Just men and song.
The mighty Male Voice classics from the valleys of the Land of the Dragon.
Insane Georgian/Bulgarian repertoire to make the very stones weep
Vintage cheese from the Barbershop tradition (tempered with a small pinch of salt)
Also anthems concerning the wonders of facial hair, garden sheds, reversing round corners, etc....
Not so much a new idea as a distillation of every great 'man-singing' concept' that has ever graced this earth. Rolled into one. In Bristol. By the people who created 'Gurt Lush Choir'.
It will be BIG & fun. Virile & beautiful. Devilishly charming... ...You know you want to.... less

The Groupe vocal Gymel was founded in 1999 by Pierre Louis Godeberge. It is a chamber choir dedicated to European vocal music from the nineteenth century onwards.
As its director, Pierre Louis Godeberge has given with the Groupe Vocal GYMEL numerous concerts in Paris and its metropolitan area, in Champagne-Ardennes, Touraine and Normandy. He has conducted both religious and secular a cappella repertoires, notably Slavic and Church slavonic music. He has also premièred works by French contemporary composers (Bicalho, Maillé, Anders). In 2007, the ensemble was finalist at the national competition of the Florilège vocal of Tours. less
