We are dedicated to educating audiences of all ages in music from The Medieval period through The 21st century through high quality performances by its professional vocal ensemble, Kantorei Choral Ensemble. Kantorei is largely unconducted which provides a unique connection to The audience, creating an unusually intimate performance and audience experience. They are also The current ABC Classic FM Choir of The Year. In addition to this They were judged Youth Choir of The Year and also received The Listeners' Choice Award. In 2008 They were part of The Channel 7 Battle of The Choirs TV show, making it as far as The quarter finals, where They met Their Waterloo with ABBA's song of The same name. Membership is drawn from state and independent secondary schools and universities and There is a strong emphasis placed on inclusion for any young man who enjoys singing and expresses a desire to develop as a musician. The Consort prides itself on unearthing lesser-known early music (such as music of De Brossard, Certon, and Clereau), showcasing larger-scale choral masterpieces (Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers, various Bach Cantatas), and presenting high-quality interpretations of well-known classics (Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Durufle's Requiem, Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia, Allegri's Miserere and Tavener's Song for AThene).
