A unique cultural institution in East London since 1973, Hackney Singers are a 150-strong community choir drawing members from Hackney, surrounding boroughs and across London.

Our association is situated in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, in the heart of the National Park of the Mercantour, in the southern Alps, north of Nice in the south-east of France, 50km from the seaside (Côte d’Azur). Composed of about forty members, our group p...  moreOur association is situated in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, in the heart of the National Park of the Mercantour, in the southern Alps, north of Nice in the south-east of France, 50km from the seaside (Côte d’Azur). Composed of about forty members, our group presents itself either as a women’s choir, or a men’s choir or mixed choir. Our repertoire is varied and original : Renaissance, classical, traditional or more contemporary rhythms such as jazz, afro-latino, or contemporary songs. We celebrated in 2015 the thirtieth birthday of our association which has a long experience in exchange and sharing around choir singing. We have organized several festivals, masterclasses and various exchanges and thus contributed to the promotion of our region, the «département des Alpes-Maritimes» and to the development of choral singing (see examples below). We hope our performance demonstrates our love of singing together and our passion for sharing music with audiences.

The Richmond Singers is a 55 voice women’s choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of othe...  moreThe Richmond Singers is a 55 voice women’s choir which began performing in 1971. Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for the enjoyment of the members as well as to give public and private performances for the listening pleasure of others”. During our musical season (September – June), the choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors. We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for other organizations such as the Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps.
