In October 2012, The choir was awarded The prestigious title of Choir of The Year 2012, a... moreLes Sirènes is a Glasgow-based female chamber choir consisting of 26 Vocalists, all students and graduates of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly RSAMD). In October 2012, The choir was awarded The prestigious title of Choir of The Year 2012, after an extensive UK-wide search and a competitive Grand Final held at London's Royal Festival Hall. The Ensemble was established in 2007 by present musical director Andrew Nunn and performs regularly across Scotland and beyond, having given concerts in renowned venues such as Glasgow CaThedral, The SECC, Dunkeld CaThedral, Paisley Abbey, The Mackintosh Church, The Queen's Hall, The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and London’s Cadogan Hall. The choir has also performed in more obscure locations, having “sung on The subway” as part of The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) promotion of The Glasgow underground.

The rehearsals include popular songs, music from The shows, and many more styles, and will help with learning to read music as well as learning to sing in new and different languages.
We gaTher members from all areas of Hertfordshire so wheTher you are in Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth, Welwyn, Ware etc you are welcome to come along.
Subscription costs are set low at £2 per week which covers heating, rehearsal space and oTher fees.

We give you The pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team... moreThe Mishawum Choral Society is a community chorus for experienced singers with a love of choral music who wish to rehearse and sing in our concerts. We give you The pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches The life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences.
Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at The beginning of The rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. We are always concerned with maintaining a good balance of voices, and we cannot promise to accept all applicants.
