We sing most typ...  moreWe are a choir of about 40 people, based in the City of London near St Paul’s Cathedral. 60 years after our foundation in Hanover Square, we are still making great music and continuing to attract some of the liveliest people in London. We sing most types of choral music, and have occasionally dipped our toes into both jazz and Folk repertoire.

The heart of Dozan wa Awtar Music Establishment is singing and community building. Major activities revolve around three groups: Dozan wa Awtar Singers, Dozan and Atfal Dozan. Dozan wa Awtar Singers is an innovative large community choir ranging from 40-60 singers that performs three main concerts a year. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of genres including classical, musical theater, Arabic and world music . Dozan is a chamber choir that experiments with new Arabic arrangements and other world music and specializes in smaller tailored performances as well as festivals and competitions. The choir covers a wide range of repertoire and styles, especially focusing on those that push choral music into new, exciting arenas. The U Chamber Choir performs numerous works by conductor Barlow Bradford, an active composer and arranger, as well as private commissions by other renowned composers. The Chamber Choir often collaborates with other ensembles, both from the School of Music and off campus, including Dr. Bradford’s professional choir, the Utah Chamber Artists. Students in the U Chamber Choir participate in the highest quality choral experience, advancing their vocal technique, knowledge of choral repertoire and musicianship. The World Youth Choir session 2012 was held in Cyprus from August 7th to September 1st, 2012 thanks to the cooperation between the Foundation World Youth Choir and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Foundation - Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, supported by the Ministry of culture and education - Cyprus presidency of the European Union (cultural events in 2012). The World Youth Choir had a chance to perform a cappella and vocal-instrumental repertoire touring Cyprus.  less

Invitato in concerti e rassegne in tutta la Sicilia, annovera tra le realizzazioni più notevoli: due spettacoli con Giorgio Albertazzi, l’esecuzione dei Carmina Burana presso l’Università di Messina e di “The Armed Man” di K.Jenkins con l’Orchestra di Lecco, l’allestimento di musical, concerti in diverse città d’Italia tra cui Assisi, Mantova, Roma, Massa, Lecco. Particolare attenzione, negli ultimi anni, è stata data alla produzione di spettacoli originali, come DoppiArmonia:percorsi polifonici per doppio coro (Duomo di Monreale). Di rilievo anche la partecipazione a diverse edizioni di “Fede, Arte e Musica” presso il Duomo di Messina in collaborazione con Mons. Our repertoire ranges from the traditional to the contemporary, from sacred to 'Songs from the shows', from Wagner to Rod Stewart. We maintain a good balance of concert and social activities. We practice every Tuesday night from 7.45pm to 9.30pm at Stithians Methodist Chapel. We have made a number of recordings including (with Stithians Ladies Choir) five well known Sankey Albums.
