Formed in 2008, VoG is proud to be The Hell's Kitchen, New York Chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). Voices of Gotham is open to all singers in The TTBB range interested in The barbershop style. Since The chorus' founding in 2008, VoG has rapidly distinguished itself as one of The country's leading incubators of both new barbershop music, and of young musical artists who will shape The continuing evolution and excellence of The barbershop tradition. VoG is ranked by The BHS as one of The top ten barbershop choruses worldwide. With over 85 members and growing, VoG is a dues-paying organization that includes high school and college students, professional actors and musicians, and people of all walks of life who simply enjoy raising Their voices in song.  less

We run inspirational residential courses and training programmes, create remarkable concerts and performances, and work in partnership to get singing happening in schools and open settings. We do it because singing togeTher at The highest level transforms young people's lives, and we want to make sure that as many as possible get The chance to experience it for Themselves.  less

We rehearse, in excellent facilities provided by Hutchesons' Grammar School, on Monday evenings, Aug - Nov and Jan - Mar; we give two concerts, in Nov and Mar, in an on-site auditorium, with 3-manual digital organ. The auditorium can accommodate 60 singers, up to 30 orchestral players and an audience of around 250 (300 max).

Directed by David Skinner, Alamire has embarked on an ambitious ten year 30-disc project to record a library of early English choral music.
