Today the ensemble consists of tenors Christian Pohlers and Paul Heller as well as basses Felix Hübner, Lucas Heller and Lukas Lomtscher. Their repertoire ranges from late medieval mass songs to modern age works. The five young musicians attach great importance to the works of German Romantic composers, such as Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn Bartholdy, as well as to their extensive repertoire of church music.
The ensemble successfully collaborates with a number of other artists, such as the composer Manfred Schlenker(GER), who dedicated his motet Gott wohnt in einem Lichte to the quintet, on a regular basis. Volker Bräutigam wrote several pieces for them to perform during the festivities at the 35th Leipziger Jazztage. The vocal ensemble Sjaella has been another partner in numerous successful collaborations throughout the years.

Under its present conductor, Julian Evans, the Choir sings a wide repertoire of choral music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods and traditional Scots and Gaelic songs. We are a mixed voice choir numbering around 30 at present.
We gave two concerts in Glasgow during the 2017-2018 season: in December we presented a Christmas programme and in June we gave a concert featuring a selection of music from the movies. However, in April we also gave two concerts in Italy, the first in Barga (including a Vivaldi Credo and Scottish songs) and the second in Milan where we joined forces with Canti Corum to sing Dvorak’s Mass in D.
Choir members enjoy many social as well as musical events together. We regularly run events for family and friends such as our annual Associates' Night, quizzes and Burns' Suppers.
In 2009 the Choir was cho... less

It is available through my website at http://cschurch.net/en/compositions/choir/o-magnum-mysterium/ and will be published by Carus-Verlag in July 2016.
Program Note:
It is difficult to follow with (yet) another setting of this famous text that has inspired so many composers over the centuries. In my attempt, “O magnum mysterium” returns three times after the first statement, in a similar gesture but each time shifted to a new tonality with even more flats. Thus, the listener gets ever more pulled into this magnificient text until the piece culminates in a jubilant “Alleluia” in C-major, having come full-circle back to very first harmony we heard.
