Since our first concert in 1995, Orpheus has presented a multi-concert subscription series each year to great critical acclaim. Orpheus has performed throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area at venues including the regional conference of the American Choral Directors Association, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Kimbell Museum of Art, UT-Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center-Dallas, and numerous public schools. Collaborations over its 30-year history have included Ars Lyrica Houston, Gramophone Award-winning Baroque scholar John Butt, Texas Camerata, jazz pianist Eric Barnes, hand drummer and international percussionist Jamal Mohamed, tanpura player Vatsal Dave, and many other outstanding instrumentalists. In order to shape a youth citizenry that is responsible and of impeccable integrity for effective leadership in the society, the choir advocates for the attainment of quality education for its members. I Numeri Primi sono la conseguenza naturale di un' esigenza ormai matura de i giovani salernitani di lavorare in un contesto finalmente solido e professionale, dove sviluppare il proprio talento al servizio della musica e più in particolare della musica a cappella. Much of the music we sing is arranged in the barbershop style. Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in the Mid Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet singing as well as a cappella singing among the youth in our region. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 7pm and are always open for visitors so feel free to visit to find out more and to see if our group is right for you.  less

We do a wide variety of music from Renaissance to contemporary and from a cappella to works with chamber orchestra. We are a fun loving, very friendly group. However, our music comes first and hard work is required of all. An audition is required. Our Music Director is William R. Thomas.
