THECHO!R is open to all interested singers – either experienced or budding over 18 years of age. It is privately funded and auspiced by Australian Pop Choir Pty Ltd trading as THECHO!R. From 1997 to the end of 2000 the Prefecture of Thessaloniki had the choir under its auspices and supported it morally and materially. However other bodies of the city helped it as well like : The Ministry of Culture, of National Defense, of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace, the Greek Committee of UNESCO, private educational institutions, well known businessmen active in town and Press organizations. In the repertoire of choir there are works of different styles from Renaissance to modern Aleatory . Folk and sacred music has an important place too . He has given concerts in different Spanish cities and internationally. He has appeared as guest choir at the International Contest of Habanera and Polyphony of Torrevieja. He has also performed concerts of polyphonic works of great composers from the Renaissance to the twentieth-century works. Most components of this choir are professional musicians or young students of instrumental or vocal music. The choir has performed concert tours in Switzerland, Italy and Cuba.
