Leach, perform sacred and secular music from the African and African-American choral traditions. The choir, founded in 2005, is composed of alumni of the Essence of Joy Choir of The Pennsylvania State University. EOJAS has performed extensively in locations such as Pennsylvania, Alabama, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Washington D.C., Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. EOJAS is an official Alumni Interest Group (AIG) of the Penn State Alumni Association. EOJAS' mission is to learn, present, and promote African and African-American sacred and secular music in an effort to entertain, inspire, affirm and unify the worldwide Community. The choir is a non-profit corporation registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a tax exempt organization as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Tax Code. Under the direction of Diana Clark since 2009, Children’s Choir consists of caring young musicians from diverse cultural heritages, ages 9-15 years old. Storytelling, joy of singing, connection and flexibility of performance are the core values of this group. The choir also loves to work with guest conductors and share with other Choirs. They have recently been guest singers with Vancouver Chamber Choir. The choir performs concerts each semester and also sings at Remembrance Day ceremonies, convocation ceremonies, and other events on campus and in the Community. We are a volunteer, non-auditioned group open to all, but choir members are expected to regularly attend rehearsals and the semester retreat, and to practice their parts on their own time. We usually put up practice files under “Resources” (members-only access) so that you can download your part and listen to it on whatever portable music-playing device you own. No musical experience is needed, but the ability to read music is an asset (if you can't read music, we'll help you learn).  less

Its goal is to provide a quality opportunity for choral singers to learn or improve their craft. The chorus sings a wide variety of music, including classical, spiritual, folk, Broadway and old standards. The group presents two concerts each year – at Christmas, and in the Spring. It has performed with the Temecula Vintage Singers, and for the Temecula Arts in the Country festival, as well as many local appearances for deserving organizations. The chorus rehearses and performs in the Temecula area. The chorus is one of the Resident Companies performing at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater. All women are welcome, who can carry a tune and love to sing. The chorus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with Tax ID: 20-1694150.  less
