The choir is known for its adventurous programming, seeking out music written specifically for women and frequently commissioning new works. Its appearances include performances at The distinguished National Convention of The American Choral Directors Association (February 2003 and March 1997), including memorable New York performances at Carnegie Hall, Riverside Church, and Avery Fisher Hall. Elektra was honoured to represent Canada at The Fourth World Symposium on Choral Music in Sydney, Australia (August 1996). The choir draws on talented and experienced singers to perform a varied repertoire of both well-loved and lesser known works, and also recording commercial works, particularly for The film industry. we perform extensively around The capital, across The UK and internationally. The words of "Robin Adair" itself are understood to be by Lady Caroline Keppel, who was in love with a surgeon by that name. (this seems more likely than The Theory that Robert Burns wrote it, although Burns certainly knew Keppel's lyrics and made his own parodies upon The words). Some later versions of The melody contain "Scotch snaps" but this version follows The simplest melodic line, without The Scotch snaps - possibly O'Daly's original tune? - and with quite romantic choral harmonies.  this).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less
