Directed for more than ten years by Michael Bawtree, its repertoire spans the Renaissance to the pres... moreWith a current membership of around 30 singers, Glasgow Chamber Choir was founded in 1994 and has developed into one of Scotland’s finest amateur Choirs. Directed for more than ten years by Michael Bawtree, its repertoire spans the Renaissance to the present day and has included the Scottish premieres of works by James Whitbourn, Hans Gál, Jan Dismas Zelenka, Richard Bush and Judith Bingham.
The Choir performs regularly in Glasgow and Central Scotland, and has toured to France, Holland and Sweden, where it has formed links with other Choirs.
Recent BBC radio engagements have included William Walton’s Henry V Suite with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Sunday Worship live and Bryan Burnett’s ‘Get it On’ show live on BBC Radio Scotland. The Choir features regularly in Raymond Gubbay’s Christmas Festival in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. less

Ljubljanski madrigalisti mixed Chamber Choir is a renowned and successful Slovenian vocal ensemble, founded in 1991. In 2003, Matjaž Šček, the conductor of the group, was replaced by Andreja Martinjak, who performed regularly with the Choir and took part in national and international Choir competitions where the Choir as well as the conductor were winning numerous prizes and awards. The greatest achievements of the Choir include a gold plaque, awarded in the 20th Slovenian national Choir competition, Naša pesem (Our song) 2007 and the second place in the 9th international Choir competition in Maribor 2008, where the Choir also won a special prize for the best Slovenian Choir of the competition. In 2008 we celebrated the 80th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian composer Pavle Merkú with a special cycle of concerts. We also performed the fairy folk-tale by Robert Schumman, Der Rose Pilgerfahrt (The Pilgrimage of the Rose) – an oratorio.
