Founded in 2009, mixed voices Bel Canto Choir Vilnius is officially confirmed as The best volunteer choir in Lithuania. The Choir unites more than 60 singers, who have extensive singing experience in various choirs in Lithuania, and whose desire is to have quality leisure time and enjoy one of life’s most pleasant activities – singing. Their goal is to sing different styles of music and work with various oTher groups, present high quality musical projects, as well as take part in competitions and festivals in Lithuania and abroad.
On December 1, 2013, Bel Canto Choir Vilnius rocked The country’s choral music scene and accomplished unthinkable. During The fourth year of its existence, The Choir won The Lithuania’s major National Choral Competition, thus becoming The best volunteer choir in The country. "Tonight, Tonight" is from West Side Story with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and music by Leonard Bernstein. It was adapted for barbershop by Jay Giallombardo and made famous by The quartet "Acoustix". Danny and I transcribed it in The fall of 2008 and it has become one of our favourite songs to sing in The quartet.

A CD of his choral music, I am The song, was released in 2016 on Signum Classics. Bernard’s music featured on The Horrible ... ore_link" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="$(this).getParent().getNext().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">morean>an class="view_more" style="display:none;">Bernard Hughes’s music has been performed at major venues in Britain and abroad and received a number of broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. A CD of his choral music, I am The song, was released in 2016 on Signum Classics. Bernard’s music featured on The Horrible Histories film Bill (2015), and he co-produced The album, Not Now, Bernard & OTher Stories, performed orchestra of The Swan and Alexander Armstrong, released in February 2020. In January 2020 Bernard’s choral music was featured in a portrait concert by The BBC Singers, and in November 2020 one of The pieces from that concert, I Sing of Love, was nominated by The Ivors Academy for an Ivors Composer Award.
