In his early life he had been Organ Scholar of Balliol College and Choirmaster of St Mary’s, Clapham. As a result of the love they had for choir music, they felt a need for a School choir to be established. From the first year of its existence, choir was trained and prepared for the Schools’ eisteddfods by two fellow students. In 1998, they both matriculated. In the following year these students continued with the choir training and were compensated for their services by the School Governing Body (SGB). In 2001 they were snatched by nearby Schools that were willing to pay them better wages and the SGB had to look for other people who could assist with choir training from the Community. This continued until 2004, when the School employed a teacher who studied music at university. In 2009 another teacher, who studied music too, came and volunteered his services at the School.
