However, it also sings with instrumental accompaniment. The choir has pieces from different ages, languages and styles in its repertoire. It gives both Turkey and world premieres of songs. It premiered the concerto Romeo and Juliet, composed by the conductor Agosyan last year. The choirs are famous in Kingston and beyond for joyful concerts full of non-traditional staging, diverse repertoire and singing demonstrating great skill and enthusiasm. Cantabile now includes six choirs and over 250 voices, performing music which engages and entertains at every event. From the beginning, Cantabile has provided musical education for choristers and audiences through this high standard of performance and quality Choral literature. Every year Dziesmuvara takes part in international or national Choral competitions. Since 2013 the choir has travelled to Poland, Lithuania, France and Czech Republic and all around Latvia. Dziesmuvara also participates in the Latvian Song Celebration festivals and occasionally teams up with fellow university and youth choirs to sing together in concerts. The more, the merrier!

Our subscription series offers innovative, collaborative concerts of classical masterworks, modern American repertoire and seasonal music. Having made several successful concert tours to Europe and the U.K., in 2008 the ROS made award-winning appearances in the Olympic Cultural Festival with concerts in Beijing and Shanghai. The ROS is a frequent guest of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. We welcome advanced singers for weekly rehearsals in Rochester, New York, USA.
