Psalm 51, Verse 7 [Antiphon at the Sprinkling of Holy Water]
Thou shalt purge me, O Lord, with hyssop and I shall be clean:Thou shalt wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost:As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be: world without end. Amen
Book of Common Prayer, Psalm 51, Verse
The rite of sprinkling the faithful with holy water at the start of the Medieval mass in every Sunday of the Church’s Year except for Palm Sunday and in Eastertide involved the use of verse seven from the famous Miserere text, the 51st Psalm. Lyrics in English
1 Lamp of our feet, whereby we trace Our path when wont to stray,
Stream from the fount of heavenly grace,
Brook by the traveller's way;
2 Bread of our souls, whereon we feed,
True manna from on high,
Our guide and chart, wherein we read Of realms beyond the sky;
3 Pillar of fire through watches dark, And radiant cloud by day,
When waves would whelm our tossing bark, Our anchor and our stay;
4 Word of the ever-living God, Will of his glorious Son,
Without thee how could earth be trod, Or Heaven itself be won?
5 Lord, grant that we aright may learn The wisdom it imparts,
And to its heavenly teaching turn
With simple, childlike hearts.

The "family" also includes older levels, a treble Chamber Choir, a mixed young adult chorus, and a community adult chorus.
The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir. The training Choirs perform annually at the Family Christmas Concert and Year End concert (held in May of each year). They also often compete at the Fraser Valley Kiwanis Music Festival, always with great results. The training Choirs may also perform at various events in the community.
The SCC, a treble-voice Choir of boys and girls aged 12-18 is a consistent gold medal winner at local festivals, hailed by Gerald Van Wyck, Vancouver Community College professor as "one of the best children's Choirs in Canada". These exuberant young vo... less
