DCMVC rehearses Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at St Osmund's Church, London Road Derby. The choir is also available to book for events. For more information, see our website.

Ably assisted by, now emeritus, music director David Low, the founding members saw their numbers grow to a membership of sixty choristers. the choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and accompanist Matthew Coons. Although many of the current members still lay claim to Welsh connections, the TWMVC now has members From a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The TWMVC proudly draws on the great Welsh tradition of singing hymns and songs born of the mountains and valleys of Wales. At the same time it emphasizes a multicultural context in its broad repertoire which also includes spirituals; operatic arias, Canadian folk songs as well as Broadway sHow tunes and contemporary music. Using the simple view that a good song is a good song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. The choir delights in introducing new songs that are connected by their unique choral sound, rather than From a particular genre and it is this wide appeal and their sense of fun that has meant the group is in constant demand and continually attracts new members. Even in its early days the choir never quite conformed to the accepted norms of what should be included in their repertoire. Our aspiration is to take township choral singing to higher a level. We are also aiming at focusing more on choral projects and concerts than competitions so that our singers enjoy singing and get compensated for engaging in the choir.
