London contemporary a cappella Choir Kitsch in Sync turned 10 years old on 11th January 2011. In October 2011 we celebrated this with a special medley of songs from The last decade. This was its first public performance.

There has been a long tradition of musical excellence at St Laurence’s. The original church, built in The 1880s, had a strong Choir of men and boys who took part in The Festival of Britain services in 1951. When The new church was opened in 1968, The musical tradition continued. A new Walker organ was installed in The church, using some pipework from The old organ and Directors of Music have included David Sanger, Professor Roger Wibberley, Paul Dewhurst, Tom Fowkes, Marcus Wibberley, Iain Simcock and Andrew Ibbotson. The current Director of Music is Huw Morgan. Girls were first admitted to The Choir some ten years ago, but The Choir remains unique in this part of south-east London in that it continues to use only trebles (girls and boys) on The top line. Trying to fit LCGC into a neat slot is virtually impossible. LCGC is known for Their up-tempo gospel flair, swing-beat, R’n'B, traditional and soulful arrangements, with Their invigorating choreography and vocal gymnastics – LCGC is outstanding to watch! It’s 40+ members perform just about anywhere, private corporate functions, after-show parties, conferences, schools, cabaret functions, clubs, weddings, christenings, funerals, prisons, churches, open-air festivals, Theatres and concert halls. LCGC have sung on The soundtrack for Walt Disney’s “The Lion King”, performed for Nelson Mandela during his famous visit to London, officiated at many celebrity weddings and supported Madonna on stage during Live 8. They represent The best of British and have been sponsored by The British Council at international festivals in Europe, Africa and Israel. We're a Choir of about 40 adults who enjoy singing contemporary and fun songs in a relaxed environment. We rehearse on Monday nights above a pub in London SE22. We currently have a waiting list for Alto and Soprano parts but we're worth it!

We perform a wide repertoire of secular and sacred music, with and without accompaniment. Our concerts are at various venues in and around The borough, and once a year we perform with a small professional orchestra. We also hold regular social gaTherings, to include families and friends, and enjoy musical evenings and events. Would you like to sing with us? New members in all voices are warmly welcomed. After a few weeks There is a short informal audition, which includes some sight-reading. Members are asked to pay a modest subscription of £11 per month by direct debit. We rehearse weekly during term time on Monday evenings from 8.00pm to 10.00pm, in The small parish hall at All Saints Church, Long Lane, Hillingdon, UB10 9BT.
