The concert theme focused on the damaging nature of gossip and the larger meaning of how words are powerful and have greater impact than we realize. Based on a well-known Jewish folk tale, the piece is largely sung in Yiddish, featuring narrated passages in English, with the moral resolution in Hebrew. A perennial competitor on the international stage, The Alliance Chorus has qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Competition every year since its’ formation in 1999. Ever “In Tune With Excellence”, The Alliance competed this past Summer in Las Vegas finishing 15th in the world, and in previous years has finished as high as 4th place! In addition to the competition circuit, The Alliance Chorus also has had many opportunities to give back and perform for the community.
