An...  moreBased in Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC, we are a professional choral-orchestral Ensemble supported by grants from The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County. Additional support comes from private foundations, including The Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, as well as gifts from The general public, and The 19/19/19 Campaign. ​We are The House Ensemble of The Rockville Bach Academy, Inc, a non-profit organization chartered in Maryland. Founded in 2011 by conductor Richard Allen Roe, The group first took The name The Advent Project, owing to The Advent repertoire performed on Their first concert. The group has since explored a wide range of repertoire, from Renaissance to Romantic era a cappella music, with a strong emphasis on The cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach. ​Along with Their concert performances, ChorSymphonica has developed a unique concert experience, called Conversation Concerts. There are more than 150 works of various times (Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism and music of The twentieth century) and styles (choral concerts, choral miniatures and songs, spirituals, songs of different nations of The world, folk songs, Christmas music) at The repertoire of our choir. Modern Belarusian music takes a large part of our repertoire, thanks to that we are happy to open Belarus to oTher nations.

AfterGlow's mission is to perform beautiful choral works of all genres with The highest level of musicianship and emotional meaning. Musical genres performed by The chorus include Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, 21st Century, spirituals, pop, rock, R&B, and Jazz. New members are always welcome. No auditions required though our director may ask you to sing to verify your placement in The correct voice range. See The Bulletin Board for details. GGCC generally performs at least two concerts per year, a Winter/Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert.

Our purpose is “to sing, in harmony, a variety of music for The enjoyment of The members as well as to give public and private performances for The listening pleasure of oThers”. During our musical season (September – June), The choir practices on Monday evenings from 7 – 9:30 PM at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond. In addition to our weekly practices we usually plan one or two workshops with a choral clinician, as well as evenings with guest directors. We have two major performances per year, a Family Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. We are very involved with our community and, by giving benefit concerts, help to raise funds for oTher organizations such as The Richmond Hospice Society, Canadian Cancer Foundation and Tim Horton’s Kids Camps.
