Past directors have included Dr. Elroy Friesen, Kristel Peters and Nathan Poole. The current artistic team consists of director, Vic Pankratz, assistant director Geung Lee and accompanist Ben Sellick. Prairie Voices performs in their own concert series, tours, is a regular guest of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and has recorded 6 CDs (including one as guest choir with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra). While placing an emphasis on performing the music of Canadian and Manitoban composers, Prairie Voices also loves to perform innovative contemporary choral music from all over the world. The concert also reflected on modern conflicts with a special focus on the impact of war on ordinary innocent people -refugees, civilians, children and victims of the growth of modern slavery often associated with conflict. It is formed by children and young people from 6 to 25 years old, who are distributed in three groups. Their activities are set out for the development of sensibility, intelligence, memory, attention, and, at the same time, contribute to achieve the feeling of working together and mutual help and the sincerity of companionship. Likewise, they begin to know the art and culture world by the music, not only polyphonie music, but also popular and modern music. During their trajectory, the choir has offered several concerts, has participated in competitions and festivals and has done tours abroad: France, Italy, Luxemburg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia...
