Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands Concert Choir has regularly performed with major Dutch professional orchestras including the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra), the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. It started life as The James Ashworth Singers giving its first concert in Thornton Parish Church in April 1976. After some years the base moved to the Unitarian Church near St Luke’s Hospital to be more central for members coming from all parts of Bradford and the surrounding area. In 1979 James Ashworth moved on to projects new and was succeeded by Douglas Robinson who had recently retired as Chorus Master at Covent Garden and who held the post until ill health forced his retirement. During this period the name was changed first to The Ashworth Singers and later to The Bradford Chorale. John Coates took over as Musical Director in 1984 and was followed by Tricia Platts in 1991. Since Tricia’s departure the Chorale has been led by several Musical Directors including Carleton Etherington, Andrew Dibb, Elizabeth Altman, John Griffiths and Christopher Rathbone. Se inician en el canto polifónico postulando primero a la Cor...  moreEl Coro está dirigido por el Maestro Arturo Hernández desde 1992. Ha ofrecido cerca de 400 presentaciones. Lo forman estudiantes de las especialidades que ofrece la Universidad de Piura (Perú). Se inician en el canto polifónico postulando primero a la Coral Universitaria, por donde han pasado cerca de mil jóvenes diferentes en los últimos 15 años. Los más destacados, son admitidos en el Coro, donde se perfeccionan a través de ensayos semanales, bajo la dirección del Maestro Hernández. Normalmente actúan entre 35 y 50 jóvenes, que saben armonizar su tiempo de clases y estudio con los ensayos. Desde 1989 el Coro y la Coral son promovidos por el Dr. Luis Eguiguren Callirgos. "Coro UDEP" is conducted by Maestro Arturo Hernández since 1992. It has offered over 400 presentations. It is made by students of the specialties offered by the University of Piura (Peru). Using the words "we apologise" from then-Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's historic 2008 apology to aboriginal Australians for past mistreatment, Davidson creates a beautiful soundscape by slowing the audio down by 250 times, the approximate ratio of aboriginal to modern presence in Australia. We use our voices to imitate this slow version. We then speed up the recording 250 times to see if we can hear Kevin Rudd's voice re-emerge. The result surprised us all!  less

Whichever stage our members are experiencing in their personal musical journeys, the IFC is filled with enriching opportunities to learn and grow both as musicians and as individuals.
