The rehearsals include popular songs, music from the shows, and many more styles, and will help with learning to read music as well as learning to sing in new and different languages. We gather members from all areas of Hertfordshire so whether you are in Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth, Welwyn, Ware etc you are welcome to come along. Traditional Sesotho South African traditional music is known for their movement and dancing in their songs, and the UP Youth Choir accentuates this by highlighting the movement in their performance.

Our first meeting/rehearsal was in September 2013. We are directed by Maestro Manuel Jesús Sanchidrián Torti who has an excellent reputation as a choral director in Malaga. Our first concert was in Velez-Malaga in December 2013 when we were joined by a children's Choir and a youth orchestra from the Conservatorio “GONZALO MARTIN TENLLADO” in Malaga, both of which are also directed by Manuel Sanchidrián . We plan further concerts and we intend to collaborate with other Choirs from different areas of Spain. Our singers represent 12 different countries and we sing in a number of languages.  less
