Fran Gerbič (1854 - 1933) ROŽMARIN

A choral piece composed by an 18-year old Slovenian talent Matej Kastelic (one of the singers as well). Not too perfect, but still nice performance by his Conservatoire collegues.

It is formed by children and young people from 6 to 25 years old, who are distributed in three groups. Their activities are set out for the development of sensibility, intelligence, memory, attention, and, at the same time, contribute to achieve the feeling of working together and mutual help and the sincerity of companionship. Likewise, they begin to know the art and culture world by the music, not only polyphonie music, but also popular and modern music. During their trajectory, the choir has offered several concerts, has participated in competitions and festivals and has done tours abroad: France, Italy, Luxemburg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia... "O Fortuna" is a medieval Latin Goliardic poem written early in the 13th century, part of the collection known as the carmina Burana. It is a complaint about Fortuna, the inexorable fate that rules both gods and men in Roman and Greek mythology.
