We are based in CHICAGO's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our singers in solos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer singers come from throughout the CHICAGO area for a unique Musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and music theory. This is a true community choir of more than thirty experienced singers representing the professions of music, teaching, engineering, law, civil service, marketing, information technology and journalism. Nearly one-half of the choir's singers are students from across many disciplines of study. Since forming in November of 2010, the Marion Consort have performed in CHICAGO, Milwaukee, and Arlington Heights. This past August, they had the privilege of performing at the CHICAGO Cultural Center as part of the Classical Music Mondays series. their mission is to present performances for various audiences with music by well known composers, while also exploring the works of lesser known composers. the Marion Consort can divide into duos, trios, octets, etc. for a well-rounded and blended performance.
