We uphold the tradition and art of male choral singing through the camaraderie of choral membership and in entertaining our audiences. We give our own concerts several times a year in Norwich and beyond, as well as appear at events by invitation. We were Special Guests of 'The People's Soprano' Rebecca Newman at her 2012 and Spring 2016 tour Norwich appearances and we put up a team to challenge the Eggheads for quiz supremacy! We also hold Open Rehearsals at the beginning of each singing season when we invite adult gentlemen to see whether male choral singing is for them, or just to see our singing men at work! El Coro Lux Dei nació el día 8 de abril del año 2012 bajo la dirección de Alfonso Ortega Mantecón en la Parroquia Santa Rita de Casia ubicada en la Ciudad de México, D.F. Surge debido a la inquietud de formar un coro religioso en el que se buscara innovar y ser diferentes a lo tradicional en este ámbito sin llegar a apartarse del objetivo primordial que es acercar a los fieles a la Eucaristía a través de los cantos. Tras el debut del Coro Lux Dei en abril el grupo siguió creciendo en número de integrantes como en calidad vocal e instrumental. El primer gran evento que fue encomendado al grupo fue la animación del tradicional rosario con motivo a la fiesta patronal el día 22 de mayo del mismo año. In 2010 it won the ATKV Animato Children's Choir Finals and the KKNK "Kanna" prize for best musical production (2013.) During 2014 the SCCC won the "Musica Sacra" Open category of the World Choral Games, in Riga (2014) and all categories of the ATKV Animato Finals (2014), being awarded the prize of "Choir of the Competition." It has recorded eight cd's, one dvd; has toured Europe seven times and Talented choristers from several schools in the Garden Route region of South Africa's Western Cape Province are auditioned and rehearse every Friday in the city of George, under the direction of conductor Jan-Erik Swart. They perform a repertoire of up to 50 pieces per year, and perform full-length concerts between 26-33 times per year.
