Bringing together very nearly 40 mixed voice Singers all sharing the same passion, they hail from countries from around the world and representative of 4 continents. the repertoire consists principally of contemporary music with anglo-saxon origins and from the very best of musical theatre as seen in London's West End or on Broadway in New York. the International Singers are beginning to wow the people of Lille and the surrounding areas of Northern France with concerts in public venues as well as at private functions organised by civic bodies as well as associations etc. Musical Objectives the International Singers is a choir structured around anglo-saxon values and traditions. During the choir’s existence, it has taken part in many musical festivals, and proven its quality by winning many first prizes, and has been joined in concert by world renowned soloists and choirs from Britain and America. Every Year, the choir perform around twenty concerts throughout Cumbria, raiSing thousands of pounds for charitable organisations and other worthy causes. the services of the choir are provided entirely free of charge to the organisations they perform for. Outside the county they have performed in such notable venues as the Royal Albert Hall, London; on three occasions, Cardiff Arms Park; twice, Sheffield Arena and in Edinburgh. In Singing students will leave voice techniques, explore ensemble Singing and perform a variety of repertoire. In acting students will learn how to develop character in scenes and songs, explore the physical journey of a character, improve stage presence and text analysis. In dance students will look at a variety of jazz techniques core to musical theatre dance as well as perform several musical theatre routines. In Oct of 2008 I returned to the Jes church, the place I had grown up with my father running the folk mass choir. He had retired 12 Years previously. What was once a packed out mass full of joy and praYer, families and young couples, Singles and religious, was now a quieter mass with no choir and I saddened by this. I offered my services as a Singer and musician to come and provide music for the 5:30 mass and within a few short weeks I returned to the place I consider my spiritual home. I had not purposely set out to start a choir but people began to approach me with a desire to Sing and it was a need within the community I was not going to Ignore. On the 12th Dec 2008 the Jes Gospel Choir was birthed with 5 Singers and me & it was a wonderful experience and we received a very warm welcome. W...  moreThameside Harmony has been in existence for over 30 Years. A ladies' a capella four part harmony group we have our roots in barbershop but Sing all sorts of music from old standards and barbershop classics to mega pop hits by groups like Abba and Queen. We perform Sing outs for local groups in our area of Hampton in South West London, and take part in local fairs and festivals. Our weekly rehearsals on Wednesdays are a fun evening of Singing, chatting and having fun together. We are always open to having new members. Experience is not required, nor is the ability to read music as we have 'teach tracks' with the songs in your part on (tenor, lead, baritone or bass) and access to these are given alongside sheet music. From time to time we run Singing courses or open evenings for which there are no auditions.
