The group was set up to perform exciting vocal material at a variety of events, and to give men and women who love singing, the platform to get involved in a fun and sociable musical experience. The Voice of The Town family has now grown and not only do we have our Choirs in Newcastle and Birmingham, but we also have Choirs in Edinburgh and Glasgow.  

A Choir based in Kumasi, Ghana. We render tremendous music of various choral genres. Very committed to what we do.

The Choir varies in size from year to years averaging 80+ singers per year.

PG Carnivalesque" under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech, attracted several hundred people who listened to daring performances of popular pop music hits. PG Carnivalesque" under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech, attracted several hundred people who listened to daring performances of popular pop music hits. During the performance we heard choral arrangements of hits such as: "Dancing Queen", "Memory", "California Dreamin'" and "Maria". This time it was not Mozart or Bach, but ABBA, Queen and songs from the musical West Side Story that graced the walls of the Gdansk University of Technology in carnivalesque musical artistic creations. Jazz musicians performed along with the Choir, and the musical effects were accompanied by a unique lighting arrangement, which required appropriate space and audience arrangement. The more-than-hour-long performance by the Academic Choir of the Gdańsk University of Technology, conducted by Prof. Mariusz Mróz and accompanied by musicians from the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, ended with joint singing, encores and a standing ovation.  less

We’ve since grown and attracted members f...  moreThe RingTones are an Edinburgh-based Choir that started in November 2012. Our name reflects our roots in the telephony and technology sectors as we originally formed as a workplace Choir in BT’s Edinburgh offices. We’ve since grown and attracted members from outside of our workplace. Led by Aly Skidmore, our vision from the outset was to build a dynamic performance Choir for amateur singers. Under Aly’s musical direction, the Choir has developed rapidly and grown significantly in both quality and reputation, receiving wide acclaim. The RingTones have been booked for a wide mix of charity, showcase and corporate events such as the Scottish Rugby Union’s Annual Awards 2015, Eden Festival 2015, the BT Scotland Annual General Meeting, the Scottish Parliament, Sports Relief, the Great Scot Awards 2014. We have also staged our own fundraising performances at venues such as Waverley Train Station, John Lewis Edinburgh and Our Dynamic Earth. We have just done two small performances after on...  moreWe have recently relaunched under our new name and recruited new members to triple the size of the Choir. We believe that anyone can sing and are an open-access Choir - no auditions, all needs catered for. We have just done two small performances after only rehearsing for 6 weeks!  

We are an 80-strong SATB Choir in our 55th season and, while we sing a varied repertoire, we are best known for our spirited performances of the great and exciting choral works. In recent years, works which we have performed include Bach ‘Magnificat’, ...  moreWe are an 80-strong SATB Choir in our 55th season and, while we sing a varied repertoire, we are best known for our spirited performances of the great and exciting choral works. In recent years, works which we have performed include Bach ‘Magnificat’, Vivaldi ‘Gloria’, Mozart ‘Requiem’, Orff ‘Carmina Burana’, Rossini ‘Stabat Mater’, Dvorak ‘Mass in D’, Tippett ‘A Child of our Time’, Handel 'Messiah' and Verdi ‘Requiem’.' We engage professional soloists and orchestra, to perform with the Choir. Since March 2015 our Musica Director is Adam Treadaway. We perform three concerts a year at St George's Church Beckenham with weekly rehearsals from September to June at the St George's Church Hall. These venues are close to Beckenham Junction Rail and Tram Stations and on many bus routes. Car parking is also available at the St George's public car park.  less
