The sense of walking at night is evoked as are the inner-blues of the poem. Rhythmic and thought-provoking. Striving to achieve artistic, Vocal and musical excellence the choir singers are graduates of the Rubin Academy of Music Tel Aviv, the School of Choir Singing, music students and graduates of selected youth choirs, performing a varied repertoire including both classical and contemporary music. Ma'ayan has performed in official ceremonies held by the municipality; in various festivals such as Tel Aviv –Yafo Festival, Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival, The Renaissance Festival, "Tones in the Desert" festival, the Jerusalem Arts Festival; in concerts with the Symphonic Orchestras of Jerusalem, Haifa and Rishon Letzion, the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra, the Israeli Chamber Orchestra, Raanana Symphonette, Baroquada, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra and the Israeli Opera. We're a group of young professionals who specialise in early music, but Polyphony especially. The singers are made up of Cathedral choral scholars and Oxbridge choral scholars. They're directed by Matthew Collins.

Not only is our music diverse – spanning everything from Palestrina and Poulenc to Take That and Queen – but the range of venues we sing in and the diversity of our members’ interests means that BMVC has something for everyone. Described as ‘a fine body of singers’ by John Packwood in the Bristol Evening Post, they have delighted audiences with their fresh, inspiring interpretations of choral repertory from many centuries. Members of the choir come from many parts of the UK for intensive weekends of music-making, culminating in concerts acclaimed for their invigorating choral sound, clarity of tone and texture, and innovative programming. In June 2010 Harmonia Sacra were invited to perform a programme of music by early seventeenth-century English Recusant musicians (including William Byrd, Richard Dering and Peter Philips) for a Swansea University History conference at Oystermouth.
