the Choir comprises of students from various academic courses and generally only a few members study music. the Choir, an ensemble of approximately 80 – 100 voices, has won international acclaim through performances, concert tours, and participation in prestigious festivals and competitions.
the Choir is currently ranked 1st on the Interkultur World Ranking List for amateur Choirs.

This auditioned choir has 150 adult mixed voices and 300 Youth mixed voices rehearsing weekly to bring various masterworks, original pieces, collaborations and new arrangements to the ears of many.
Doug Mears is the Artistic Director with Patrick Vaughn as Youth Director. Youth Choruses have two convenient campuses with the professional support of Caroline Crocker and Bonny Tynch and Youth Chorus Directors. Additionally, full time accompanists and music educators meet the rehearsal and music education portions of this semi-professional chorus.
FCS is honored to work with renown musicians, conductors and orchestras to present the finest choral programs available. Sometimes we join other choruses to produce even larger musical works. the choral offerings of the Fairfax Choral Society are diverse though always presented after concerted rehearsal and production.

Last July, over 100 BIG Sing members flash mobbed the Maldon Tesco Store and the YouTube video has had over 16,000 views, raising money for Cancer Research UK. As well as community events, the BIG Sing have hosted their own sold out shows in Essex and have many more coming up this year!
As the BIG Sing grows we are continuing to reach out to more people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to unite people with uplifting music and have seen the choir members grow in confidence, experience the thrill of performing on stage, make new friends and belong to a new choir family. the BIG Sing not only has several thriving community Choirs but also advanced Choirs (the BIG Sing Pro), Children's Choirs (LITTLE Sing), singing groups for babies and tots (TINY Sing), school Choirs, and corporate singing Choirs.
