Its activities soon expanded and now include a regular concert programme, weddings and services throughout Staffordshire and the West Midlands, and guest appearances at other cathedrals. The choir has a versatile repertoire of sacred and secular music ranging from the Renaissance to the contemporary, and it enjoys the challenge of new and experimental writing. Widely acclaimed Sunday morning broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 hAve raised its profile well beyond the region, as hAve its two appearances in the BBC Sainsbury's choir of the Year Competition, several performances in the Lichfield International Festival, and the recordings 'In Every Corner Sing' (Regent REGCD196) & 'Belgian Choral Works' (Regent REGCD241) with the Lichfield Cathedral choir and the Fine Arts Brass Ensemble. The choir performs three or more significant concerts in Edinburgh each year, and has become known further afield through broadcasts and concerts in Scotland, touring abroad, and singing in support of local and national charities.

We are committed singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and hAve opportunities...  moreIrish Doctors choir members are enthusiastic and experienced singers, mostly, but not exclusively, doctors or medical students. We are committed singers, who can prepare music independently before a short intensive rehearsal series, and hAve opportunities to perform some of the great works from the classical choral repertoire to a high standard and in exciting venues. We also enjoy singing simple music well at smaller performances on our rehearsal weekends and at conference events. Although our performances are mostly in Ireland, we hAve quite a few singers from other countries, including UK, France, Germany and Sweden. During 2020, we hAve held online rehearsals using Zoom and produced two online concerts, raising 11,000 Euro for charity.  less
