La denominazione attuale vuole essere un richiamo all’origine del toponimo Sìnnai. Due tra le ipotesi più accreditate sulla formazione del nome del paese farebbero infatti derivare Sìnnai dal fenicio sina (rovo, luogo pieno di sterpi) o dal latino medievale sinnum (segno di confine fra i salti di due villaggi). Tali ipotesi sarebbero confermate anche dal nome del secondo villaggio che diede origine al paese: Segossini, che significherebbe per l’appunto “subito dopo Sinnai”, in quanto unione o del termine latino secus o sardo segus (traducibili entrambi con subito dopo o dietro) con il nome sina o sinnum. The International Singers hold a unique status amongst choirs in France by means of our repertoire and composition. Bringing together very nearly 40 mixed voice singers all sharing the same passion, they hail from countries from around the world and representative of 4 continents. The repertoire consists principally of contemporary music with anglo-saxon origins and from the very best of musical theatre as seen in London's West End or on Broadway in New York. The International Singers are beginning to wow the people of Lille and the surrounding areas of Northern France with concerts in public venues as well as at private functions organised by civic bodies as well as associations etc. Musical Objectives The International Singers is a choir structured around anglo-saxon values and traditions. Much of the music we sing is arranged in the barbershop style. Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in the Mid Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet singing as well as a cappella singing among the youth in our region. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

A perennial competitor on the international stage, The Alliance Chorus has qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Competition every year since its’ formation in 1999. Ever “In Tune With Excellence”, The Alliance competed this past Summer in Las Vegas finishing 15th in the world, and in previous years has finished as high as 4th place!
