The 15 strong member choir, under the direction of Berima Amo, draws on the youth living in the Amsterdam area especially in the Southeast parts. The choir is dedicated to sharing the joy of faith through indigenous music with audiences around Europe. We specialize in singing indidenous and Folk music music from Ghana, West Africa, proudly exhibiting, learning and teaching our African heritage to the world. Six Degree Singers has featured in events all around the D.C.-metro area, including the Silver Spring Loy Krathong Thai Festival and the Chesapeake-Potomac Invitational Bonspiel, an annual curling event, and was recently selected to perform in the closing concert of the Kennedy Center's National Choral Festival in 2014. This premier female ensemble, were the first choir in the country to venture into the world of international choral music, and have been truly musical ambassadors to Sri Lanka. They are the only choir to record an international album in 2004 when they were asked to record a single for a Tsunami project where Soul Sounds shared the stage with Cliff Richard, Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, Russell Watson (the famed contemporary tenor), Robin and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, Steve Winwood, Boy George, Chicago and others.
