Under the musical direction of Kevin Fox (UK) and the baton of house conductor Erez Tal, Vocalocity performs mostly original arrangements of a range of cutting-edge rock/pop/jazz music. The Singers, all of whom come from a background in modern a cappella, range in age but are mostly around their 20s-30s. After a fruitful year, including 3 full-house concerts and several festivals, working with leading acapella masters such as Line Groth and Eric Bosio, collaborating with leading arrangers, composers and artists and recording for the upcoming Swingle Singers CD, we are looking forward 2015 with a visit to Aarhus Vocal Festival and creating some new recording and video clips of our own. Vocalocity operates under the auspices of Mil”a, the Israeli Center for Choral Groups.  less

Our repertoire embraces a cappella music, from renaissance to contemporary, as well as choral works with keyboard and orchestral accompaniment. 2012 concerts range fom JS Bach St John Passion, with orchestra, to a programme of Scottish music (Carver to MacMillan) via Horrotorio!  

We sing contemporary acappella: unaccompanied close harmony arrangements of jazz, pop, gospel and do-wap classics, including original arrangements by our members.

One of my earliest a cappella compositions composed when I was 22, the haunting and melancholic "Elegy of Anne Boleyn" based on an anonymous poem I found in my local library in 1983, is now available at my website. I remember being very inspired by Debuss...

Comprised of more than 20 experienced Singers. All have a wealth of vocal experience. Many have sung in barbershop choruses and quartets. Others have strong choral backgrounds.

As well as entertaining audiences across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne we compete regularly in barbershop harmony competitions at a national level.
