This is arranged by our Lovely talented choir member Margaret Smith. Choirs involved from Hummingsong Community Choirs are Karinya, Maribella & Senisuara based in sydney's Northern Beaches and North Shore. 110 women joined together for an event we will all never forget. It is made up of James Rose (Founder), Sam Robson, Emily Dankworth, Ben Cox, Martynas Vilpisauskas and Lewis Daniel, all young and talented musicians from the Guildhall School of Music. Performing live on stage around London with guest singers such as Jacqui Dankworth, VIVE brings rich, diverse harmonies with a fresh, contemporary sound, taking inspiration from the legendary Take 6 and the Real Group! Their music is mainly original arrangements and compositions and what's more, the focal point is not just pop, fusion, harmony, jazz, spirituals... but a complete synthesis of all of these. They will be performing a set of originals and covers, including original compositions 'Voices', and 'Ezekiel Saw De Wheel' - the latter proclaimed "Genius" by Mervyn Warren! The choir is directed by Dr Simon Lindley, its Music Director, and the organist is David Houlder. The verse soloists are Lucy Appleyard (alto), Toby Ward (tenor) and Philip Wilcox (bass). It was recorded on 5th December 2010 in the Harvey Nichols Espresso Bar in Leeds' magnificent Victoria Quarter in the first of St Peter's Singers' now-traditional Sunday evening carol performances there. The choir is directed by Dr Simon Lindley, its Music Director since the Singers' formation in June 1977.
