The members of the Ensemble are all amateurs and have the same ideal that their performance can touch the heart of every audience through their well-trained voices. Their repertoires include folk songs, classical songs, musical pieces, pops, and premiere works by renowned composers. In March 2011, Plaisir Ensembe achieved a great success in the “1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition” organized by the INTERKULTUR. They won the Gold Diploma, the Category Winner as well as the Overall Winner of Chamber Choirs. The Ensemble is one of the Top 50 Female Choirs in the Musica Mundi World Ranking List.  less

Also winning ...  moreIn the World Choir Championships which was held in Graz, Austria between 10th-17th July 2011, Boğaziçi Jazz Choir became the 'WORLD CHAMPION' in Contemporary Music and Folklore categories, and got the 'second prize' in Mixed Choirs category. Also winning 2 more gold medals in 'Grand Prix of Choral Music' the champions competed in, the choir has come back to Turkey with a total of 5 gold medals. All participants are vocally trained, some of which at music academies. The Ensemble prepares concerts twice a year, singing highly diverse repertoire, ranging from renaissance compositions to contemporary music and everything in between. TIEN cooperates with several conductors, each specialized in the repertoire and theme chosen for a programme, e.g. Fokko Oldenhuis, JanJoost van Elburg, Felix van den Hombergh, Sanne Nieuwenhuijsen and Nicky Bouwers.  less
