Two years after its founding, it was awarded 1st Prize at the 29th National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The group performed in various events such as Miss Earth Pageant in 2003 and 2004. The group was also one of the featured artists in the Samu’t-Saring Tinig V at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; in a concert at the Clamshell in Intramuros in February 2003; and in the International Youth Music Festival sponsored by NAMCYA held at the CCP in December 2003. In 2004, the choir released its debut CD featuring Ilocano favourites and winning competition pieces. In 2005, the choir was handed over to its new conductor, Sherberk Cabrales. Its first conductors were the Finnish-American Dr. of Musicology, Mrs. Ruth-Esther Hillila and Finnish Pastor Mr. Tarmo Nuotio. The three following conductors came from Vienna (Austria) Mr. Peter Lacovich, Zwickau Prof. Mr. Heinz Hofmann and Dresden (Germany) prof. Mr. Christian Hauschild, the original footholds of European protestant 'Knabenchor' -tradition.
Cantores Minores is the largest and most professional boys choir and choir school in Finland offering boys and Young men both musical and spiritual education around the Helsinki region. Cantores Minores is especially famous for its performances of large church music pieces by
J.S. Bach, J. Brahms, G.F. Händel and F. Mendelssohn and a strong inspiration and example for the choir has during its 70 years of existence been the 1000 year-long protestant boys choir tradition
in Germany.

In July 29 - August 01 2025, DCS marked a milestone as it embarked on its fifth international tour to the Taipei International Choir Competition held at Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan. This tour was the first under the leadership of the current president and served as a heartfelt tribute to DCS’s inaugural international tour—timed perfectly with the group’s 10th anniversary. With renewed spirit and deep pride, the choir honored a decade of excellence through powerful performances that showcased their growth and unity.
