The Choir represents a Community of exceptional talent and passion for music. The East Rand Youth Choir hosts prestigious Choir festivals annually for both high school and primary school Choirs. The aim of these festivals are to motivate and inspire these Choirs in order to achieve true development and innovation for our youth. We train together in vocal and choral skills as part of every session and want to explore our own sound as well as that of our Choir's. We have a strong Folk influence and a variety of pieces that keep us challenged and growing. Directed and trained by singing teacher and Choir coach Sandra Smith (www.singingandbreathing.co.uk) Throughout the pandemic we kept singing and did a short but very fun Homegrown Harmony project where all singers participated in a small group piece or a solo and recorded it. We bring you classical repertoires as well as delightful Norwegian folk songs. The Nidaros Cathedral Boys’ Choir has over 900 years of rich history. It’s the main Choir of Nidaros Cathedral which is located in the ancient capital of Trondheim, Norway. It’s also the main Choir of Royal events. The Choir will celebrate its 100 years of modern history in 2027 with a global tour. Current artistic director and conductor, Bjørn Moe - a former soprano in the Choir, successfully reinvented the Choir since joining as conductor in 1973. There are 100 members in the main Choir, 70 sopranos/altos (9-15 years old) and 30 tenors/basses (15-68 years old). In addition, the mini-boys Choir, has 40 boys ages 7-9. Apart from religious repertoire, the Choir also sings Norwegian folk songs as well as songs from different cultures around the world. Called a “mighty fortress of skill” by the Washington Post, the Wartburg Choir is one of three college musical ensembles that tour internationally on a triennial basis. Beyond tours, the Choir receives invitations for special appearances in the United States and abroad, most recently to participate in the December 2011 White House Holiday Concert Series. As part of that trip to Washington, D.C., the Choir also sang at the National Cathedral’s Bethlehem Prayer Service, which was simulcast worldwide. In 2006, the Choir performed with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in Prague at the invitation of Maestro Paul Freeman, CNSO music director and chief conductor, who had attended Wartburg Choir concert at Orchestra Hall in Chicago. We love our collaborations with the local professional orchestras, in addition to our acapella Chamber ensemble concerts. Our educational events include our annual Children’s Messiah performance.  

L’ensemble vocale attivo dal 2000, è tra gli ensemble di riferimento della coralità pugliese. Da tempo impegnato in attività concertistica e nello studio del repertorio corale sacro e profano a cappella e concertato, è stato invitato a numerosi Festival e...  moreL’ensemble vocale attivo dal 2000, è tra gli ensemble di riferimento della coralità pugliese. Da tempo impegnato in attività concertistica e nello studio del repertorio corale sacro e profano a cappella e concertato, è stato invitato a numerosi Festival e Rassegne Nazionali ed Internazionali, con grandi riscontri di critica e pubblico. Dal 2015, ha realizzato, con l’Orchestra barocca S. Teresa dei Maschi, prime esecuzioni in puglia di grandi opere barocche storiche: Bach Johannes Passion, Oratori di Pasqua e Natale; Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine. Importante l’impegno nella ricerca ed esecuzione di musica di autori pugliesi inedita: Fago Salmi e Magnificat; Nenna, Felis, Radesca villanelle e madrigali; Cafaro Responsori. Dallo stesso anno è nata la collaborazione con l’Etichetta discografica Toccata Classics di Londra per la registrazione di una collana di produzioni dedicate agli autori pugliesi.  less
